Reducing acidification, creating habitat for biodiversity, reducing water run off and managing bogs

Our conservation work reduces acidification of the soil, the watercourses and the riparian habitats, ponds and bogs

Promoting naturally-occurring species creates the best environment for nature to fill the ecological opportunity

There has been a marked increase in biodiversity at Bowshiel as conservation work has progressed, with "notable bat and tree-nesting bird populations along with other diverse flora and fauna, with over 36 protected species in residence"

Bowshiel has recently been acknowledged for its Natural Capital by Scottish Borders Council as a Local Biodiversity Site
